PORTStatus History File
$VER:PORTStatus_V6.9c
Version 1.0
->First Release.
Version 1.1
->Fixed a bug caused by my misunderstanding of a GU# :)
Version 1.5
->Color Added. Other NORMAL logon information was added,
Logon time, caller #, Last Logon time and so on.
Version 2.0
->More features added and now has a sysop config so that you
turn off some of the display.
Version 3.0
->Added a SysOp Menu option so that Sysop's could make more
use of the power this program offers. Such as the viewing
of any single port #, viewing of ALL port settings, or a
range of port #'s.
Version 3.1
->Minor Bug Fixed. The minutes left was showing something like
600 when it should have been showing 60.0. The point was
mission making the users think they had much more time:) FIXED!
Version 3.2
->Added a break to the longer listing sysop functions. ie.
During the list ALL and list RANGE the sysop can now exit
the listing at anytime buy just typing x. This will take
you back to the sysop menu.
Version 4.0 (Major UpDate)
->The users part of the program is mostly unchanged, however the
SysOp Options/Menu have undergone a massive change.
Version 4.1
->New Routines Added. Added newer Error routine, Added More
Prompt control. Added 'changewhere' feature.
Version 4.5
->ReWorked the SysOp Menu. Other minor improvements added.
Version 4.6
->Oops:) Forgot to replace a couple of the controls for putting.
the More Prompt back into place. Fixed.
Version 4.7
->Fix the line length on two lines to bring them below the 255
character limit so most editors could handle them again.
Version 4.8
->Fixed bug in the showing of UnLoaded ports. If the default YES
was used, it would still all ports and not just the 'Loaded'
ports.
Version 4.9
->Removed some un-needed code and other genreal improvements to
the code.
Version 5.0 (27-MAR-1996)
->MAJOR UPDATE!
Added: Comma parser (Thanks to Dotoran :) )
So now numbers like Calls WAS 7500 IS NOW 7,500
Changed: The Sysop Display is now in 'Line Format'
Changed: Any KEY will now pause long listings of ports.
Added: Continue prompt to paused listing. Now the SysOp's can
Continue the listing or exit from it.
Fixed: Port 100 is the GLOBAL settings and has been fixed to
show it as such.
Added: In the SysOp port viewing screen, it will now show the
name of the user that is on a port. If a port is loaded but
not in use then it shows Loaded/Idle and for non-loaded ports
it informs you that it is Closed.
Added: Added an option for the sysop's so that they can have
the program ASK a user if they would like to view thier port
status instead of just being shown it.
5.0 Note: As of the writting of this version, CNet 4.05 was released for
general BETA testing and 4.06 GAMA is running on FW. As this
program was written for CNet 3.x, it may not work with any of
the 4.x versions of CNet. It all comes down to if Ken is still
using the same GU (Get User) values for 4.x as he did for 3.x.
If he did, there should not be a problem but I have heard
rummors that some of the values HAVE changed :( If this is the
case, then I will release a 4.x version as soon as I can get the
new GU values for this information.
Version 5.1 (08-APR-1996)
Added: 5.1 will now 'ALWAYS' display the GLOBAL information for
the sysop's at the sysop menu screen. This will save time for
the sysop and be of help in a later version where sysop's can
edit the port information.
Fixed: I fixed it so now in the changewhere it will also show
the version instead of just PORTStatus, now it's PORTStatus #.:)
5.1 Note: As of the writting of this version, CNet 4.07 has been released
for general BETA/GAMA testing with 4.06 GAMA still running on
Future World. The good is... PORTStatus *IS* 4.x TESTED and is
fully usable! Hehe, whew... What luck:)
Version 6.0 (13-NOV-1996)
Added: No new additions just updated the program to use the new
GU's (getuser #'s) for CNet 4.24 and up.
6.0 NOTE: As of the writting of this version, CNet 4.24d has been released
Even though version 5.1 said 4.x tested, it would only work
under Ken's early 4.x, ie 4.0 to 4.11. As of Rays 4.12+ it would
no longer work because of GU (getuser) changes. Even as of this
version, the new GU's are not generally know so I held off of
upgrading this project untill the new values could be had. This
version was written under CNet 4.24 and tested on it and on 4.24d
so unless there are more GU changes, this should work on all new
4.x from 4.24 and up.
Version 6.1 (18-NOV-1996)
Added: CNet 3.x Compatability added. Now 3.x & 4.24+ compatable.
6.1 NOTE: This version (6.1) may or may not work with CNet 2.63 in 3.x
mode. I am unsure if any GU's changed between 2.63 and 3.05.
If anyone can tell me for sure if this works under 2.63 I would
be very happy to hear from you. I am unsure at what 4.x version
the GU changes took place so I will not say for sure that this
will work on any version below 4.24. I am fairly sure that this
will not work under any of Ken's first 4.x releases and/or under
any of Ray's earlier 4.x releases. As I recall, PORTStatus 5.1
worked under some of Ken's early 4.x, upto about 4.05 or so.
Somewhere between 4.05 and 4.23 a few GU#'s changed around and
shifted making this program useless for those. I will NOT make
any versions compatable for those releases.
Version 6.2 (18-NOV-1996)
Fixed: 3.x Compatable bug.
Version 6.3 (18-NOV-1996)
Fixed: 3.x Compatable bug. The fix in 6.2 did not work right:)
Version 6.4 (18-NOV-1996)
Fixed: Hopefully fixed the last 3.x compatable bug problems:)
Version 6.5 (23-NOV-1996)
Added: Added CNet version 3x/4x auto detection. Now you no
longer have to set a flag for your version.
Version 6.6 (23-NOV-1996)
Added: Added Access Group, ID#1, and/or System Operator for
granting SysOp access.
Version 6.7 (23-NOV-1996)
Fixed: Fixed a small bug with the access groups.
Version 6.8 (04-DEC-1996)
Fixed: Re-Fixed the CNet3.x/4.x finder. Due to a shift in the
CNet Version string from 3 to 4 I had to correct for this.
Version 6.9 (08-DEC-1996)
Fixed: PS was not seeing the change status of the sysop from
port to port. This was due in part by me leaving a small GU#
left over from the older 3.x only program and it was overlooked
untill now. Thanks Joshua for finding this bug :)
6.9 NOTE: The access settings are as follows:
0=None, No access given to anyone (Even the Sysop)
1=ID#1 or Greater. Anyone with the same access groups as Sysop.
2=ID#1 and Access Group. Good for sysop's that change AG's.
3=ID#1+AG+System Operstor. Same as 2 but also adds users with
System Operator flag set.
Version 6.9a Updated to work under CNet 4.24H. No other changes made.
6.9a NOTE: Because of changes made to CNet 4.24h, this version will NOT
work under any CNet 4.x before version 4.24H! However, it WILL
work under 3.05c/f and 'maybe' work under 2.63 (not tested).
Version 6.9b Fixed the moreoff option, I had started on this way back but
forgot to complete it. This should fix any problems with PS
turning off a users more prompt.
Improved the graphic layout of the display some.
Started to add some code that will be used in the V7.0 release
6.9b NOTE: Starting with this version, a new config item was added to the
code.
pw='password' /* Password to enter Remote Editing */
This option is the password that you would like to use to enter
the new Edit Menu. You just type this password at the range
prompt to be presented with the Edit Menu. You may go ahead and
set your password now, but this part of the code will not be
fully functional untill version 7.0 is released.
Version 6.9b PORTStatus UpDated for CNet 4.26b. PS will run on 3.x & 4.26b
but will no longer work on older 4.x versions.
Done: Will be changing the SysOp access from the old 31 access group
to ID#1. This is for those sysops that do not use access group
31 for thier own access. A second option will also be added to
grant users with maint access to also access PORTStatus's Sysop
Menu and functions. This option will be flagged so you can also
control to give or not to give maint users this access.
Next: Will be adding a built-in config sub-program for the flags. This
will allow for easy remote editing of the program flags.
Future: This *HAS* become a full featured Status program:) and will SOON
have options for sysop editing of the port status information. This
would be good for those sysop's that call in remote alot and may
have forgotten to set the sysop in: to not in or other flags.
Future: Want to add a better graphic interface for the BBS users next.
